Yet Another Google-Related Post

I promise, we'll start posting about something else next time.

I think my favourite Google+ features are the circles, and group messaging/video.

Google Goes Social With Google+

No, "Google Takeover" is not a new product from Google, even though it very well should be in the new future. Google has recently announced a new product called Google+ that aims to take over the popular social network Facebook. As of right now Google+ has only been open to a handfull if people through invite only and should be released to the public in a few weeks. Some notable features of Google+ include a feature called Circles that allows you to categorize your "friends" into different groups to allow sharing to be more easy and specified. Another cool feature of Google+ is the Hangout feature that allows multiperson video conferencing, which is something that Facebook has not yet provided and may change the way people use social networks in the future. As of right now, Neither Reyna or I have been invited to try the new social network so we don not know too much about the features of this new website yet. As soon as we sign up we will be sure to tell you if Google+ is a true Facebook competitor.

More Potter?

After days of build-up, JK Rowling has finally announced Pottermore, an online project expanding the reading experience of the Harry Potter series. In this video she explains that Pottermore will be "the place where fans of any age can share, participate in, and rediscover the stories." The website will also sell Harry Potter audio books and eBooks.

Though it was described as "an online reading experience unlike any other," what it really sounds like is a glorified discussion forum. The only crucial difference between Pottermore and other Harry Potter fan sites is that Rowling herself will be contributing to the discussion, giving fans information that can't be found in the books or anywhere else on the internet.

Of course, this is all still speculation and the site itself could be far more than that. Pottermore will officially launch in October, with chances for early entries on July 31st.

Spotify is coming to the US soon!

This is a crash course for Americans that may not know what it offers. I may or may not have used this music streaming service before and may or may not have loved it.
